What is an Area Agency on Aging?
We, South-Central Colorado Seniors, Inc., are YOUR local Area Agency on Aging. As the Area Agency on Aging for Region 8 (San Luis Valley), like all Area Agencies on Aging, we respond to the needs of older adults and their family caregivers in the communities they serve. We are advocates, planners, funders and educators, as well as providers of information and referral services. We work with public and private partners to respond to the unique needs of older adults and family caregivers in their areas. From the frail older person who can remain at home with the right supportive services, to the older adult who benefits from the wellness and socialization opportunities provided at senior meal sites, as your local Area Agency on Aging, South-Central Colorado Seniors, Inc. offers services that make a difference in the lives of older adults across the San Luis Valley.

General Questions
South-Central Colorado Seniors is the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for the San Luis Valley Area. We cover six counties, Alamosa, Rio Grande, Conejos, Costilla, Saguache and Mineral. We are governed under the Colorado State Unit on Aging.
We provide services which assists adults 60+ as well as Disabled Adults 18+ living with an eligible adult to continue to live independently in their own homes. To view our services please check out Our Services.

No. There is no cost for services. We are NOT income based, however we do ask for an approximate income range for demographics only. We do have a suggested voluntary donation for our Nutrition Program of $3.00 per meal if able. For other services such as homemaker or respite relief, material aid, transportation, donations of any amount are welcome. Donations help sustain our services.
Call our Administration Office, 719-589-4511. Our staff is ready to help you in any situation. An assessment is required for all services. This is NOT an application, we assess the eligibility through questions asked on the assessments. Assessments are available by walk-in, email and fax.
